Miss King – Head Teacher
I am Miss King and I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of the school. I have been a member of the teaching profession for over 20 years now in a variety of roles and always wanted to be a teacher from the age of 5! I have been Head Teacher at The John Moore Primary School for 9 years and the most exciting part of my role is to see pupils enjoying exciting learning opportunities and to be able to celebrate their learning successes with them.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my young niece and nephew and singing in a local Community Choir.
Mr Tibbles – Acting Head Teacher
I am genuinely excited about working at The John Moore Primary School. Watching children progress and seeing them enjoy school are the main reasons that I have for working here and in education. I am married with two sons and, when I’m not ferrying them to sports events, I enjoy cycling, reading, playing the piano and doing a variety of sports. I think that a sense of humour is important in the classroom and I will, no doubt, attempt a few hundred bad jokes this year. I’m as happy hearing a groan as a chuckle in response. My door is always open if there are things you wish to discuss or ask and I look forward to meeting you.
Mrs Philcox – Acting Deputy Head Teacher & Inclusion Manager
I am Mrs Philcox and I am the Inclusion Manager. My job is to look after the children with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities. This includes children who are gifted and talented as well as children who need a bit of extra support to ensure that they make progress in school. Part of my job is to set up the interventions that take place in our school – these groups are designed to enable children to make rapid progress in a small group or 1:1 situation. I teach some of these groups. I have always wanted to be a teacher and I love my job! Outside of school, I love to read and enjoy eating the cakes that Mrs Alderman bakes and brings into the staffroom!
