We have had four children take their first tentative steps into reception at the John Moore Primary School. My first daughter started in 2002 and my second son will finish in 2019!  Over the years I have witnessed the school growing and changing and it is a privilege to be involved in that process alongside a dedicated group of teachers, support staff and fellow governors.  Although life is very busy, being a governor is very rewarding. Outside of work and school, I spend my time in the car ferrying children to football and other sports, and more social engagements than my diary can cope with.

I am Miss King and I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of the school.  I have been a member of the teaching profession for over 20 years now in a variety of roles and always wanted to be a teacher from the age of 5!  I have been Head Teacher at The John Moore Primary School for 9 years and the most exciting part of my role is to see pupils enjoying exciting learning opportunities and to be able to celebrate their learning successes with them. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my young niece and nephew and singing in a local Community Choir.

I am Mr Tibbles. I am genuinely excited about working at The John Moore Primary School. Watching children progress and seeing them enjoy school are the main reasons that I have for working here and in education. I am married with two sons and, when I’m not ferrying them to sports events, I enjoy cycling, reading, playing the piano and doing a variety of sports.

I am Nicola Summers and am married with two grown up children who are both studying at university. I have been working as a Teaching Assistant/HLTA at The John Moore Primary School since September 2014.
Having worked as a TA/HLTA for 15 years the main skill I bring to the governing body is advice on how policies may affect the day to day running of the school in the classroom.
In my spare time I enjoy walking in the local area and spending as much time as I can by the sea.

My name is Richard Barber and I live in Walton Cardiff with my wife Jenny and three children – William who is about to move into year 1, and twin girls Sophie and Amelia who will be two in November. We moved to the area four years ago in part because of the fantastic reputation of the local primary school and also because of a thriving and positive local community. Four years later, and when an opportunity came up to become a parent governor and to personally contribute more in both areas, I was delighted to join the team. I believe I bring a broad mix of skills and experience from many different areas of my life, in particular working as Store Manager for Marks and Spencer. Central to my beliefs are the requirement to communicate and engage with people in a meaningful manner and with a genuinely two-way approach. I will be sitting on Premises, Health & Safety and Finance, Pay and Personnel Committees as well as monitoring numeracy. When at the school gate (usually on a Wednesday) my favourite topics of conversation will be Gloucester Rugby, Nottingham Forest football club or how to stop cats using my front garden as a toilet!

My name is Graham Finch and I became a Community Governor in March 2014. I was a secondary school English teacher for 35 years until my retirement in 2007. I taught in schools in Warwickshire, North Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire before being appointed Head of English at a Worcestershire comprehensive school in 1990. After retiring I spent four years as Churchwarden at Tewkesbury Abbey, which kept me very fully occupied. Now I have more time for relaxation and travel, but maintain a keen interest in education. I was delighted to be asked to join the Governing Body at John Moore Primary School, which I know to be committed to the highest standards of educational achievement and pastoral care.I serve on the Curriculum & Standards and Finance, Pay and Personnel Committees. I hope to be able to contribute in some measure to the continuing success of the school, its staff and pupils.

My name is Daniel Webb, I live on the Wheatpieces estate with my wife Nikki and two children Jacob and Poppy. We moved to Tewkesbury from Abingdon in Oxfordshire in 2000 and quickly became integrated into the local community; I joined Tewkesbury Running Club to keep fit, which failed miserably, but undeterred I Joined Tewkesbury Triathlon Club which was more of a success (although with the birth of Poppy this has also slowed considerably). I am chair of the Little Foxes Playgroup Committee and also Treasurer of Tewkesbury Triathlon Club. Other interests of mine are Politics, Formula 1 and sitting in front of the telly watching a good film with a glass of wine.I was thrilled to be asked to join the Governing Body of what I think is the best Primary School in the area (well I would say that !!!). I sit on the Curriculum & Standards, and Premises, Health & Safety Committees, and with my links to Little Foxes I have taken on the Governor role of supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage, I am an engineer at heart but also have a strong Health and Safety background from my workplace, I therefore believe I can bring that knowledge and experience to help John Moore Primary School .

I’m Karen Pavey and have been Clerk to the Governors since my eldest son attended John Moore in KS1.  I’m married to Gary and have 2 sons, both of whom now attend Tewkesbury Comprehensive.Over the years I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to be involved with the school both when the boys were here and continuing after they’ve left by supporting a great team of Governors who help the staff in making other children’s experiences here as enjoyable as my boys’ were. Other than being the Clerk, I am Finance Director of a local company based in Twyning and love either being in the gym or going off to music concerts!
